NuStaff are currently working with their prestigious client to support the recruitment of Trainee Trim Operatives for one of their main manufacturing locations based in Cwmbran.
Working within a team this role will include producing bespoke components and applying 1st class trim for aircraft seats for many of the world's leading airlines.
The ideal candidate will be HSE aware, and safety focused coupled with a flexible approach to work to ensure of a 1st class service and to ensure all business requirements are supported.
Key Responsibilites will include:
- Assemble and trim 2D/3D objects within the Trim department whilst maximising efficiency and reducing waste aiming to achieve OTD targets.
- To uphold the best working practices across all production areas whilst seeking to suggest and support improvement activities.
- Check supplied parts and assemblies to ensure fit, form and function, compliance to drawing, design data and all relevant quality specifications.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with other departments, customers and suppliers and manage data transfer.
- Participate in team continuous improvement activities and support development of best working practice within the unit.
The ideal candidate must be:
- Must have first-hand experience of trimming/Upholstery or an assembly background.
- Able to demonstrate multi-faceted manual dexterity tool skills with the knowledge of all trim materials.
- How and where these materials can be used as well as the ability to read engineering drawings.
- Excellent organisational skills, proficient at managing and prioritising work schedule.
- Proficient at using handheld trimming tools such as: scissors, snips, scalpels and various other trimming tools.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to create a flawless finish.
- Ability to work within a team and follow work instructions.
- Experience working with high-end or luxury vehicles or an automotive background is advantageous.
- Flexible attitude towards working hours as overtime may be required.
Hours and Pay
Days Regular (Training period) - £12.30ph
Days and Afternoons rotating shift pattern (6-2.30/2.30-11) - £14.76ph
Saturday OT - £18.45ph
Sunday OT - £24.60ph
Once you are trained to a certain level these rates will increase with the standard rate on shifts becoming £15.47ph.
